General Description

Lebanese and Middle Eastern Cuisine

Nicholas Restaurant

BY WW EDITORIAL STAFF Review from Willamette Weekly.

March 19th, 2008

Arabic pop, a sidewalk crowd and a stream of to-go orders testify to this tiny Lebanese joint’s popularity. The creamy, lemony yogurt dip called tzatziki ($5 for a side) and the Middle Eastern standards, like shawarma sandwiches ($7), prove the attention is deserved. Some dishes, like the falafels with tahini ($5), are vegan. Others, like the beef-and-rice-stuffed grape leaves ($5), are vegan-optional. Servings are big, so you’ll order too much. Don’t worry: lamb keeps. For a reasonably light lunch, share a mezza plate ($8.75)—with fresh hummus, falafel, tabouli, and pita—and an appetizer (grape leaves!). Then you’ll have room for baklava ($2.75). (CP) 318 SE Grand Ave., 235-5123. Lunch and dinner daily.

Adding Restaurants

Adding a restaurant is easy. First copy the code from Restaurant Page Format for the preferred general layout. Put a link to the restaurant on the appropriate hub page, for example RestaurantsByName, save your change, then click on the link to open and edit the new page for your restaurant. Or just type the name of the restaurant in the URL line of your browser after '/index.php?title=' and open the new URL, paste in the code and add the info. Remember to back-link to the appropriate hubs, like your city area hub, and RestaurantsByName.
