Educating and Informing
A major focus of the Food Allergy and Intolerance Foundation is educating and informing the public and members of the medical community about Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other food allergy related health conditions. This web site is one of the main tools we use to provide information. We have posted selected medical research here. Or click on the 'Published Research' button on the Resources menu above.
The Support Group
The Food Allergy and Intolerance Foundation sponsors the IBS and Central Seattle Gluten Intolerance Group. This support group is a place where people with food allergies/intolerances (including celiac disease) and/or IBS can get together for education and support. The schedule and more information are on the Support Group Page of the IBS Treatment Center, which kindly hosts the meetings in their clinic. If you or your organization are interested in hosting an Food Allergy and Intolerance Foundation sponsored support group, please email us at contact@FoodAllergyInFo.org. We also host a google group as an online home for the support group at http://groups.google.com/group/IBSCSSG. Anyone is welcome to join us online, even if you can't attend meetings.
The IHFWiki - The Online, Encylopedia of Food Allergy/Intolerance Info
We also provide a the IHFWiki, which lists restaurants along with information about how they accommodate people with food allergies or gluten intolerance, and even links to menus and ingredient lists when available. The IHFWiki also includes information about food products, grocery stores, books, groups, blogs, and other resources. The IHFWiki is like wikipedia - all the information comes from the users like you who want to share the great places and resources they have found with others.
